“The Cornish are on the Up” declared Grand Bard Maureen Fuller, Steren Mor, in her recent speech to celebrate Cornwall’s patron saint, St Piran, which urged Cornish people and all those who love Cornwall to help put our nation on the map and join the Gorsedh Kernow Challenge to “Do Something for Cornwall”.

Well, as luck and good planning would have it, the very next day the children of Menheniot Primary School, near Liskeard, were doing just that, all 200 of them, when they were joined by Deputy Grand Bard Merv Davey, Telynor an Weryn, playing the Cornish pipes and leading them in a Cornish Dance Day on Friday 6th March after having some teaching sessions with Merv and wife Alison Davey, whose Bardic name is Corolyores meaning, appropriately, Dancer.
