Esedhvos 2023 Programme Padstow Sept. 1st to 3rd

Below is the programme for this year’s Esedhvos. Full details are in the printable leaflet here.

Members of the public are very welcome to attend these events, which are free and open to all unless otherwise stated.

Friday 1st September
Padstow Social Club 10am—12pm Seminar: How can we work together for a stronger Cornish culture and what role do we want the Gorsedh to have in the future?
Padstow Social Club 2pm: Screening: King for a Day. A film by Barabara Santi and the people of Padstow, focusing on Padstow’s Mayday traditions. Free for all
Padstow Social Club 4pm: Koffi, Korev ha Keskows! An informal get-together for Cornish speakers, learners and would-be learners. Come and chat over coffee or a pint.
St Petroc’s Church—all day: Exhibition of work submitted for the Gorsedh Awards programme in 2023 in both the Young People and Adult categories.
St Petroc’s Church, 7pm: Award Ceremony

Saturday 2nd September
12pm—6pm—Stalls open at Prideaux Place.
1pm—Display of Cornish Wrestling
1.30pm Grand Procession of Bards from St Petrocs Church to the Bardic Circle in the grounds of Prideaux Place
2pm Gorsedh Kernow Bardic Ceremony in the grounds of Prideaux Place

Sunday September 3rd
3pm Gorsedh Evensong in Cornish: St Petroc’s Parish Church.
