Young People Awards

5.7.21. Gorsedh Kernow announces the Young People Awards winners 2021.

Gorsedh Kernow are delighted to announce the winners of the Gorsedh Kernow
Young People Awards. Awards Coordinator Amanda Harris said “It is very
encouraging to see that the quality, creativity and exuberance of the entries has not
lessened despite, or may be because of, lockdown. Many families have taken this
opportunity to encourage the children to celebrate their home and their Cornwall
through music, film, written studies and art.”

Many thanks again go to Cusgarne School for encouraging their children to enter, to
Treverbyn Primary and The Cornwall Music Education Hub. This year we have also
had some fabulous winners from America where the Cornish language and culture
are being celebrated with enormous enthusiasm. The winning entries can be seen
on the Gorsedh Kernow website in September.

“It was very uplifting to judge the Children’s Awards and to see how much Cornwall
means to the children and how this is shown in their creative expression. There
were so many good entries, it was not an easy choice at all” said Grand Bard
Melennek, Elizabeth Carne.
