The Open Gorseth in PensilvaThe Millennium Building at Pensilva provided an excellent facility for the annual Open Gorseth held in that village on September 7th. The weather held good for the open-air ceremony during which 21 new bards were initiated and Gorseth awards were presented to individuals who had made significant contributions to Cornish life. Delegates were welcomed from Gorsedd Cymru and Goursez Breizh.![]() Of special note this year was the excellence of the children's dance, the presentation by the Lady of Cornwall and the great display of Old Cornwall Societies' banners. A fine Cornish Bardic Tea was enjoyed by almost 300 Bards and special guests followed by a first class concert of Cornish music, song and dance. On Sunday 8th the usual Gorseth service, conducted wholly in the Cornish language, filled St John's Church, Pensilva. Music was provided by Cantate Domino. | |
