Cornish Bards of the St Ives Area

£4.75

Launched at St Ives on the eve of the 2010 Gorsedd, this A4 book is a collection of short biographies of fifty-two past St Ives bards, together with their contribution to Gorsedh Kernow, the life of St Ives and Cornish culture and history.

As well as bards such as Barbara Hepworth, Bernard Leach and Peter Lanyon, who achieved fame on the wider British stage and internationally, it looks at grass roots citizens such as Beryl James, Cyril Noall and John Tucker Barber.

Well illustrated with over forty black and white photographs, it was researched and compiled jointly by St Ives Archive Study Centre and Gorsedh Kernow Archives and Publications Committee.
