Launch of Gorsedh Kernow Children’s Awards 2022

Gorsedh Kernow is delighted to announce that the Gorsedh Kernow Young People’s Awards scheme for 2022 is now open for entries.

Open to children and young people under 18 years, the Awards seek to encourage learning, understanding and promotion of Cornish culture and give expression to the national Celtic spirit of Cornwall.  The expression of Cornish identity and culture is the over-arching criterion against which all entries will be judged. A separate adult award scheme is in place for those over 18.

We welcome entries from whole school classes or from individuals in the Cornish language, dance, music, film or theatre, a Cornish study or art and design. This year we are also encouraging creative writing on a Cornish theme in poetry or prose.  Gorsedh Kernow is delighted to be working in partnership on the awards this year with Golden Tree Productions and their Go Cornish programme in schools.

This is a chance to celebrate your creativity and our wonderful Cornwall.  Splann!
