In a Press release issued Thursday 21st April 2022, Hayle is formally announced as the site of Gorsedh Kernow 2022.
“Hayle is a town very close to my heart not only because of the place it holds in the history of Cornwall but also because of the childhood memories it evokes of our family visits as tourists from Camborne. Standing at the heart of Cornish industrial heritage it is a warm and welcoming town with a great community spirit which Gorsedh Kernow is delighted will be our 2022 venue.”
With these words in mind Pol Hodge, Mab Stenak Veur, Grand Bard of Cornwall will announce the coming of Gorsedh Kernow and the Esedhvos Festival of Cornish Culture to Hayle in September at the annual Proclamation ceremony on Saturday 30th April.
The annual ceremony will take place at 11am at the Library Garden in Hayle, following a short procession and is open to all. The visit to Hayle was agreed by the Gorsedh and Hayle Town Council earlier in the year. The ceremony includes a welcome from the town, a short address from the Grand Bard and the symbolic offering of Spring flowers, celebrating the land of Cornwall.
