Entries for Gorsedh Kernow’s Holyer an Gof Publishers’ Awards have now begun to arrive at Kresen Kernow at the beginning of the ‘Holyer Year’. Publications eligible for entry must have been published in 2019 and be about Cornwall, set in Cornwall or in Kernewek – the Cornish language. Each year, the panel of almost forty reader-reviewers ensure that each book entered is read and reviewed at least three times during the three-month reading period. In June marks and comments are considered and discussed in a meeting open to the whole panel and a shortlist of nominations is published on the website (www.holyerangofawards.org.uk). At the Awards evening in July of next year, which will he held for the third time at the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro, prize-winners are announced and receive their certificates from the Grand Bard of Gorsedh Kernow, Elizabeth Carne.
Publishers (and self-publishers) of eligible books are encouraged to visit the website for more information and an entry form. The deadline for submissions is February 29th.2020.
